Celebrating Black Florida: Hued Songs

  • Norton Museum 1450 South Dixie Highway West Palm Beach, FL, 33401 United States (map)

Ms. Richardson returns on the Hued Songs Concert as a featured soloist as part of the Celebrating Black Florida event presented by the Norton Museum. For more information on this event, please visit www.huedsongs.org or visit www.norton.org/events/celebrating-black-florida-02-22-2020 .

Hued Songs is a multidisciplinary performance that illuminates the works of black composers and works inspired by black history, culture, or text. Helmed by classical vocalist Kunya Rowley, this immersive experience highlights musical and theatrical bodies of work by African American artists and explores black history through vibrant dance, song, and spoken word.

Now in its third year, this Community Day celebrates the art and cultural histories of black Floridians, as well as the Museum’s collection of works by artists of African descent. The day’s activities include special tours, family workshops, talks, performances, and a teen art studio led by the Museum’s Teen Advisory Squad (TASQ).
